Medvedev : "I just wanted to be proud of myself even if losing"
Medvedev : "At 2 sets to 0, it was tough. Because during 1st set, honestly we both played not very good. 2nd set, I felt that I played a bit better, but Zverev played very well. 6/3, 2 breaks, I didn't really have chances on his serve. I was a little bit lost.
But during the 3rd, I started saying myself 'if I lose I just want to be proud of myself'. I wanted fight until the end, for every point. If I lose, I lose. I managed to win, so I'm very proud (laugh).
In 3rd set, I felt that I was tired physically. So I cannot ran anymore for 40-shots rallies as we did in the 1st set. So I was like 'Ok, let's get more agressive'. And same again, if it doesn't work, I tried. But I felt it worked.
I started to make some good shots that I didn't do before, started to serve much better. Put a lot of pressure with my serve. And the tie-break, unbelievable. A little bit lucky at 5-5 with the return. But that's tennis."
